LAKE CABLE GARDEN CLUB

THURSDAY, AUGUST 24, 2017

LAKE CABLE CRUISE

Location:  Clubhouse Docks

Time:  11 AM

Captain Debbie Gibbins will conduct our tour.

Lunch at Noon, after the cruise.  The tentative menu will be Jimmy John’s  Sandwiches, salad with choice of dressings with add your own cheese and chicken and whatever else I fix.  Dessert will be fruit and cookies.  If you need a special diet, please bring something to compliment this menu.  We plan to eat in the Clubhouse.

There will be a brief business meeting after lunch.

Planning Committee is Sandy Dougherty and Bonnie Popa.

Line Dance is over for this year. Thanks to everyone who helped.  This is a wonderful money maker for us.

Happy Birthday to Ruth Anne Parker on the 2nd, Sue Becker on the 22nd, and Faye Heston on the 23rd.

LAKE CABLE RETIREES

THE LAKE CABLE RETIREES HELD THEIR REGULAR MEETING ON THURSDAY JULY 20TH WITH OUR ANNUAL PICNIC.  GOOD FOOD AND GOOD TIMES WERE SHARED BY ALL WHO ATTENDED.  THE WEATHER COOPERATED WITH A COOL BREEZE AND EVERIYTHING WAS GREAT.

OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON AUGUST 17TH AT THE REGULAR TIME.  REFRESHMENTS AT 9:30 AND THE MEETING AT 10:00

Plan on attending the 3rd Annual Chops and Hops

Saturday September 30th, 2017

All proceeds go to Lake Cable Improvements,

Open to all adults 21 and over. Tickets will be available from sportsman club members and the office.

Doors open at 6:00 PM – $20.00 per person

This is an evening at the clubhouse; attendees cook their own Pork Chops from Strasburg Provision. Provided are salad, baked potatoes, rolls or bread from Norcia Bakery, and dessert.  Tableware provided. Beverages include Pop, Water, Coffee, Wine and Beer.

Minutes for Sportsman Club 7/11/2017

Meal included Bratwurst. Thanks to our chef Steve Floom.

Ron Eschliman shared his perfect Green Bean Casserole with the group.

Guest speakers were John Pizzino and Randy Gonzalez of Jackson Township to talk about development in our township and update us on the Golf Course changes.

A great Lake Report was given by Phil Kirkbride.

No meeting minutes were read.

Ted Petty gave the financial report.

Old Business;

  1. Steak fry was a success and attendance was up from last year. Planning a couple improvements for next year’s event.
  2. Still looking for fall time ideas and field trips. We are considering another try at a casino trip.

New business;

  1. Chops and Hops is September 30th. We will be selling tickets in August.

We welcomed two new members at the meeting; John Streb and Ken Michaels.
