AS WE HAVE SAID BEFORE, WE HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL WITH OUR “MEET YOUR NEIGHBOR” SERIES.  IN ADDITION TO DON, WE HAVE HAD CHIP WAIKEM AND STAN BARNES, JUST TO NAME A FEW, AND WE ARE SURE THAT THERE ARE MANY MORE OF YOU OUT THERE WITH INTERESTING STORIES TO SHARE.  SO, ONCE AGAIN, WE REQUEST THAT YOU GIVE US A CALL IF YOU WOULD BE WILLING TO SHARE YOUR WORK EXPERIENCES OR HOBBIES, OR IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT JOINING US, PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL THE FOLLOWING:

Lake Cable Sportsman Club,        Minutes for Sportsman Club 11/14/2017

Meal was from Little Italian kitchen. Ron Eschliman shared his always perfect Green Bean Casserole.

Guest speaker was Deb Humbert from CSE Credit Union. She explained some of the many ways fraud can happen to each of us. Number 1, counter fit checks are easy to produce these days. Scams to be aware of; Too good to be true (probably is), Overpayment, Sweetheart, Foreign Lottery, Grandparent, and IRS. She also alerted us to programs available to make phone calls look ligate but are not. She also reminded us to protect our Social Security Number, monitor our accounts regularly and consider action on the Equifax breach.

New member is Brian Halasinski.

Announcements; The Honorable Judge Dixie Park thanked the club for our interest in the Visiting Angles Program.

Reading of the minutes from last meeting. Financial Report was given by Ted Petty.

Lake Report was given by Tom Gibbins; Election of officers was held and reflects no changes on the board. Trees had to be removed because blithe. Flood plain review has been completed and most lake properties are in the clear. Fish Club raffle will return next year.

Old Business;

  1. Appreciation dinner is January 27th at 6PM at the club house. Catered meal with live entertainment. Plan to attend.

New business;

  1. The club honored 11 veterans and the Tony Carlone award winner that were present. We also honored all the volunteers that help make Lake Cable a great place to live.
  2. Board is looking for future board members, see the president if interested.
  3. Next month is our Christmas Tom and Jerry night, plan to attend. Meal is free if you pay next year’s dues.
  4. Kids Christmas party is December 9th, sign-up tonight to help in the kitchen.
  5. Matt Kuhn has tickets available for the Meyers Lake Sportsman Club Buffalo Dinner.
