Lake Cable Pollinator Garden Is a Winner

The Canton Garden Center awarded the Lake Cable Board

of Trustees a Beautification Award for the Lake Cable

Pollinator Garden. The award is given only after the garden

is judged on specific landscaping criteria. At the award

ceremony on September 11, the trustees received praise for

recognizing the need for such a garden and supporting its

creation.

In addition to the Board of Trustees, the following people

were instrumental in the making the garden a reality.

Planning,design and implementation committee: Julie

Edwards, Melinda Carmichael ( Assoc. Director-Beechcreek

Botanical Gardens) and Brenda Fernandez (Master

Gardener). Tom Gibbins for his encouragement and support.

Steve Floom for the careful construction of the raised bed.

Many thanks to the volunteers who helped plant and water

the garden and pulled weeds. You will be needed again!!

Anyone who wishes to help with the garden should contact

Julie Edwards at 330-705-6768.
