Lake Cable is a diamond in the rough located at 5725 Fulton Dr NW, Canton, OH. Once you become a property owner, we invite you to join the Lake Cable Recreation Association, Inc.
Our History
Lake Cable was built in the early 1920s by brothers Dueber and Austin Cable. The clubhouse was built shortly after the lake was completed. The Lake Cable Recreation Association, Inc. was formed on May 28, 1928 to operate the Association. Many improvements have been made over the years while preserving the charm of the past.

The Clubhouse
The clubhouse is a 15,000-square-foot facility featuring:
- Five party/meeting rooms
- The office and storage areas
- A women’s locker room
Three of the party/meeting rooms are available for rent by members of the Association. Lake Cable also owns 15 acres of common areas.
Outdoor Amenities
Pavilion
An outdoor pavilion on the west side of the clubhouse accommodates up to 140 people, making it ideal for picnics and reunions. The pavilion features:
- Fixed picnic tables
- Grills
- Restrooms
Beach
On the east side of the clubhouse, members can enjoy a large sand beach, complete with:
- A diving board and large trapeze swing
- A concession stand
- Restrooms and locker rooms for changing
- A patio and deck for lounging
- Seating areas for dining
- A full-time lifeguard staff for safety
Lake Activities
Lake Cable spans 150 acres with an average depth of 14 feet. Fishing enthusiasts can catch:
- Bass
- Walleye
- Perch
- Channel catfish
- Several varieties of panfish
Popular boats on the lake include:
- Pontoon boats
- Fishing boats
- Kayaks and canoes
- Paddle boats and paddle boards
- Sailboats
Boat Restrictions: Maximum length of 24 feet and a motor limit of 9.9 horsepower.
Dock Rentals
Waterfront property owners enjoy private docks, but off-water residents can rent docks from the Association. Please check with the office for availability and pricing. Owning a boat is a great way to experience the Annual Third of July fireworks display, one of the best in the Canton area!
Internal Clubs & Social Events
Lake Cable’s internal clubs organize social activities throughout the year. Clubs include:
- Garden Club – Open to all members
- Fish Club – Open to all members
- Retirees Club – Open to all retired members
- Woman’s Club – Open to female members
- Sportsman’s Club – Open to male members
Events include a beach dance, float boat parade, steak stag, and more. All events are listed in the Lake Cable Newsletter, which is mailed monthly to members with important lake updates and upcoming events.
Membership Requirements
Prospective members must first own property in the Lake Cable Allotment. Before purchasing, call the office to verify:
- Whether the property is eligible
- If past fees exist
Note: Membership does not automatically come with a property purchase. Once you close on a property, you are invited to join the Lake Cable Recreation Association.
Non-member property owners are not permitted to use the lake or facilities as guests.

Below are the current fees associated with becoming a member of the Lake Cable Recreation Association.
- Initiation Fee: $3,000
- Annual Dues: $1,075
- Fireworks Contribution: $50
- Other Potential Fees: Varies by property
